Pictures For Vets welcomes your interest in the project. It is through donations and the people behind those donations that success will be determined.
I grew up in the then small town of Rochester Michigan. Although I was an excellent high school athlete, when I attended Michigan State University, the football team was crowned National Champs by A.P. With players like Bubba Smith, Gene Washington, George Webster and other All-Americans there was no way I would have seen playing time. I did happen to meet up with an athlete I competed against in high school from Troy Michigan who had become an All-Midwest lacrosse player. Billy Muir loaned me an old lacrosse stick and I fell in love with the Indian game. I played the club sport, and when Lacrosse was given Varsity status at M.S. U., I became an assistant, and then Head Varsity Lacrosse coach.
Chuck Kronk was a teammate of mine when I played lacrosse, and the captain of one of the lacrosse teams I coached at M.S.U. He is now one of the directors for Pictures For Vets. Chuck has throughout his life shown compassion for others less fortunate than himself, and striven for excellence. Mr. Kronk is president of Water Works Systems, an engineering company in Lakeland, Michigan specializing in water waste and environmental quality. He has been a member of the Michigan Water Enviornment Association, serving as its president for a term.
William Korompay is another life long friend who wanted to serve as a board member for Pictures For Vets. Bill and I played both football and basketball together at Rochester High School. After receiving his teaching degree from Oakland University near our home town Bill fulfilled his dream of spending his career teaching in the same local Rochester School Systems. As a retired teacher he served in a mentoring program through Mercy College in Detroit.
The third director on the board of Pictures For Vets is Lance Winchester. I have known Lance for forty six years, and as with Chuck and Bill, was invited to be part this project because of his compassion for others. Lance lives in Saugatuck, Michigan and has served in numerous facets to better projects in this small resort town. Lance has served on the fire board, and has headed the Venetian Festival celebration, one of the most successful summer festivals in Michigan.
It is with the guidance and determination of this board of directors that I am sure we can grow Pictures For Vets to a charitable organization that will be held in high esteem by everyone.
